Ravi - Kora So Far

Ravi (aka J. P. Freeman) has developed a unique style of kora (West African harp/lute). In his explorations as a multi-musician over a period of twenty years, he has released 15 of his own and collaborative recordings, developed an electric/solid/stereo/aluminium kora, toured with his own Kora Colours Project and played on the CDs of Nigel Kennedy, Dr John, John Lord, Gasper Lawal, Loop Guru, Morgan Fisher and Tribal Drift.

Other contributing elements to his original style have been throught playing with musicians from around the world such as Cortes e Cannes (Sardinia), Talvin Singh, Justin Vali Trio (Madagascar), Vasmalom (Hungary), John Swain (Blowzabella), Brendan Power (Riverdance), Daevid Allen (Gong), Ronu Majumdar, Bikram Ghosh (Ravi Shankar's tabla player) and the santoor player, Tarun Bhattacharya, with whom he has the project, Mistral.

This CD is a compilation of over an hour of Ravi's best recordings that inspire to lift the spirit.
