Lawson and I have lately been raiding the Heron song catalogue for suitable stuff to do as duets within the ISB concert set. We do them fairly simply (mostly acoustic guitar and piano) and overall they seem to survive.
One Monday morning after a clump of gigs, squinting through the Cardiff rain we saw a potential mini album. We skipped around the corner to Lawson's studio with the intention of laying down basic tracks to embellish later. Suddenly however, young and braver then usual, we were going to complete live versions that would need no overdubs or editing later.
As you can imagine it needed a lot of takes (45?) but somehow remained perky.
Of the six songs, two are new and the remaining four exist in very embellished versions and look like they can do with a break.
The hoped-for result is that they are in your lap rather than at the foot of your garden. You could give them a pat.
